The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), in a statement released on Monday, disclosed that it has made provisions for bulk electricity to be transmitted to the AEDC’s (Abuja Electricity Distribution Company’s) network currently being affected by an industrial action, for onward distribution to electricity consumers under it.
The statement which was signed by the Company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, reads in part: “The Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, hereby inform the general public that it has available bulk power for delivery to the distribution load centres of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to offtake for its customers.”
Mbah, in the statement, confirmed the present interruption in power being supplied to customers within the AEDC network resulting from the industrial action taken by staff of the Power Distribution Company (DisCo), since Monday, November 6.
“The areas under AEDC franchise include Abuja, Nasarawa, Kogi, parts of Edo, Niger and Kaduna States,” she said.
The Company empathised with customers of the DisCo who are currently being affected by the disruption, and promised that power will be restored to their communities once the load centres are reopened.
“TCN regrets this disruption and assures Nigerians that normal bulk power delivery to AEDC will be restored as soon as the injection substations are opened for onward electricity supply to consumers,” the statement read.
