The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, on Tuesday, disclosed that plans were underway to expand the capacity of the Damaturu Transmission Substation in Yobe State with additional 150MVA and 2 60MVA power transformers.

The plan to upgrade the substation was disclosed by the Ag. MD/CEO, TCN Engr. Dr. Sule Abdulaziz, during his visit to the substation in company of the Regional Transmission Manager for Bauchi Region, for inspection yesterday.

A statement released by the Company yesterday, reads: “While inspecting the substation, Engr. Abdulaziz revealed TCN’s planned upgrade of the substation capacity with additional 150MVA and two number 60MVA power transformers.

The 330/132/33kV Damaturu Transmission Substation which supplies electricity to about six communities in the State, currently comprises of 150MVA 330/132kV and 60MVA 132/33kV power transformers.
