Communities within Kaduna, under the network of the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), starting from (Tuesday, yesterday) up to Wednesday(today) , will experience a partial blackout due to the on-going erection of towers by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), on the Kaduna-Zaria 132Kv and the Jaji-Turunku 33Kv lines.

Head of Corporate Communications at the KEDCO, Abdulazeez Abdullahi made this known on Tuesday in a statement of apology, appealing to its customers within the affected communities, to bear with it while the work lasts.

“We sincerely apologize to our esteemed customers in Jaji, Turunku, Zaria and environs for the on-going interruption of power supply.

“The outage is scheduled for Tuesday 4th January and Wednesday 5th January, 2022 from 07:00am to 06:00pm,” he said.

He explained that the interruption in the power supply to the communities was necessary to guarantee the safety of TCN’s officials who were to erect the towers.

Abdullahi, however, assured affected customers of the DisCo (Power Distribution Company) that everything will return to normal immediately the engineers on site have completed works on the lines.

“The outage is to provide safe working space for the TCN crew to continue erection of towers from T1 – T6 and stringing of triple circuit.
“Power supply shall be restored to the affected communities as soon as TCN team are done with work.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience,” he appealed.
