TCN, MAN seek to improve power supply in Idu industrial layout

The Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) met with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), to urgently address the power supply issue faced by businesses within the Idu Industrial Zone, an industrial hub situated within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

The TCN led by Engr. Sule Abdulaziz, its Ag. MD/CEO,met with the management team of the MAN which was led by Engr. Ibrahim Usman, Chairman, MAN Infrastructural Committee and Infrastructural Power Development Committee, to discuss the best ways to help increase bulk power supply to industrial layout, on Thursday.

The layout houses offices of public parastatals such as the Nigeria Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). Other manufacturing and household firms including BUA Cement, Alibert Furniture, Pepsi, among others are presently operating within the industrial cluster.

The zone is presently experiencing poor electricity supply to businesses which has negatively impacted the cost of production and operations.
