Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPC Ltd, has sought the collaboration of the judiciary for a special court for the creation of a special court and tribunal to ensure a speedy trial of crude oil thieves and pipeline vandals.
Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC Ltd, made this call on Wednesday when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria; Hon. Justice John Tosho.
According to the GCEO, NNPC needs the commitment of the High Court towards the creation of a special court/tribunal to ensure a speedy trial of crude oil thieves and pipeline vandals.

He noted that a special court to execute such cases will deter would-be criminals and assure investors of value for their investments.
Justice Tosho, in his reaction, bemoaned the impact of the vandals on the Nigerian economy, promising the commitment of the Federal High Court to speedy to facilitate the request of the national oil company.
