Four days outage in Edo community as BEDC replaces power obsolete panels

Communities within Oluku, Iyowa, Okhun, Utekon, Otokhure, Ora and Ekiadolor  in Edo State are set to experience four days power outage, as the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) announced the plan to carry out operations on the Oluku 1x15MVA 33/11KV injection substation.

 

The maintenance and repair according to the BEDC involves replacement of the obsolete 11KV panels in Oluku 1x15MVA 33/11KVA injection substation in Oluku from Wednesday, September 21 to Saturday, September 24, 2022.

 

This was contained in a statement issued by Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), and obtained by EnergyDay. 

 

EnergyDay gathered that, prior to the notice, communities within the Oluku/Ekiadolor axis have been experiencing outages due to faulty feeders, infrastructural vandalism, among others issues.

 

The BEDC statement noted that Oluku, Utekon, and parts of Edo state will experience power outages during the course of repairs.

 

Meanwhile, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), under which the affected areas are, has on Tuesday, also appealed to its customers within the areas for calm promising to restore power after the replacement on injection station.
