Power outage persists in Kaduna, Zaria, Zamfara, despite national grid recovery

Samuel Agbelusi

Electricity consumers in Kaduna, Zaria and other parts of Zamfara States are yet to recover from the recent national grid collapse, due to  a fault that occurred on the Shiroro-Kaduna 330KV circuits, leading to intermittent power disruption in the affected areas.
,
This was contained in a statement released by Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company(KEDC),  obtained by EnergyDay on Wednesday.

According to the Kaduna DisCo, the fault on the Shiroro-Kaduna 330KV circuits has escalated the power situation under its network, thereby putting pressure on the other  330KV circuit currently serving Kaduna, Jos, and Kano franchise area.

The KEDC noted that it is lending the necessary cooperation and complying with TCN’s advisory to ensure the stability of the system.

The DisCos, therefore, assured customers of restoration of normal power supply as soon as the second Shiroro-Kaduna 330KV is restored.
