Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has assured customers across its franchise area of improved service delivery and a reliable power supply during the festive period, cautioning them against forgetting major electrical safety standards in their homes.

Mr. Godwin Idemudia, the General Manager, Corporate Communications, EKEDC, made this known in a statement obtained by EnergyDay on Tuesday.

The EKEDC GM Corporate Communication, while encouraging customers to be sensitive to Christmas electrical safety tips, urged them to always remain safety conscious and avoid any acts that could endanger their lives.

Idemudia advised customers to switch appliances off when they are not in use and exercise caution in and around their residences and offices, especially regarding electrical appliances and fittings.

The EKEDC’s spokesperson noted that the safety measures must be observed by the customers in order to protect their families and loved ones against electrical hazards during the festive season.

EKEDC in an additional statement also urged customers not to attempt to resolve an electrical emergency on their own, encouraging them to always seek the assistance of a qualified expert to help them resolve the problem and fix any damage.

While assuring that EKEDC officials would be on the ground to offer timely support and maintenance across all its network areas during the festive season, Idemudia said, “we are working tirelessly to ensure stable and reliable power supply during the festive season.”

He said, “Christmas is a time to be grateful for life and its blessings. We are therefore wishing all our customers a wonderful festive season.

“Christmas is a time to celebrate, reflect on the activities of the outgoing year, and make plans for the coming year.

Idemudia further described the period as a time to celebrate with friends, family, and communities for another successful year.
