Kaduna Electric has rolled out an electricity debt relief promo, which provides customers under its network areas the opportunity to enjoy up to 25 percent discount to clear outstanding debt. The DisCo also raised alarm over rising cases of assault on its staff while on official duty, threatening to withdraw services from such high-risk areas.

This was confirmed in statements issued by Abdulazeez Abdullahi, Head of Corporate Communication, and obtained by EnergyDay on Wednessday.

According to Kaduna Electric, customers with outstanding debts of 100,000 and above, would enjoy 25 percent discount on one-off debt settlement.

It also said, the promo offers the same category of customer the opportunity to enjoy a 10% discount for the settlement of two months debts and a 5% discount for those planning to clear three (3) months debts.

The DisCo further revealed that customers owing up to N99,999 and below, can also enjoy 10 percent discount on one-off payments.

Kaduna Electric therefore encouraged interested customers to visit any of its Area office with their bills to enjoy the offer.

In another statement condemning the incessant attacks on its customer, Abdullahi, Kaduna Electric spokesperson said that the management of the company is dismayed by the increasing spate of assault on its staff while carrying out their legitimate duties.

He said, ” Situations where irate members of the public resort to violence against our staff is unacceptable, and such an act is in breach of the law.

“Kaduna Electric shall work closely with the security agencies to arrest and prosecute any individual or group that perpetrates such condemnable acts against our staff.

“No effort shall be spared in pursuit of justice for any of our staff whose rights are violated at work.

Abdulahi, therefore,stated that the DisCo has legal regulatory rights to withdraw our services from such high-risk areas where it is no longer safe for our personnel to freely operate
