The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has identified its retail station and reportedly taken disciplinary action against the station attendants involved in under-dispensing fuel to customers at one of its retail outlets in Port Harcourt, as revealed in a recent video circulating on social media.

This was revealed in a statement obtained by EnergyDay on Tuesday via the NNPCL official Twitter handle, in response to a viral video by a man who outed a NNPC filling station in front of Garden City Mall, Port Harcourt, for engaging in fraudulent activities.

According to the NNPCL the retail outlet and the station attendants involved have been identified and have taken measures to prevent any future recurrence of such incidents across its retail network.

NNPC Ltd therefore encouraged its customers nationwide to report any area in need of improvement at its over 900 stations through its relevant channels and customer care lines.

It also promised to uphold the high standard and quality of service which it claims are the hallmark of its brand.

EnergyDay gathered that this recent incident   is not an isolated one, as there have been previous warnings from the NNPCL about filling stations under-dispensing petroleum products.

This issue of under-dispensing fuel is not limited to the NNPC, as there have been investigations into how filling stations short-change consumers in Nigeria.
