Dorman Long announces Chris Ijeli, as new MD, Engr. Agunbiade, as Non-Executive Director

Dorman Long Engineering, a leading Oilfield Equipment, Structural Steel, Marine Structures Engineering, and Fabrication Company in West Africa, has announced the appointment of Engr. Chris Ijeli, as its new Managing Director.

The announcement was made during a press conference at the company’s head office in Lagos on Tuesday,

The company emphasised that the new MD and Non-Executive Director are expected to lead the company to the next frontier and drive Nigeria’s energy transition to create massive jobs.

According to the company, Engr Ijeli comes with a proven track record of driving growth and innovation in the engineering sector.

He is expected to play a key role in furthering the company’s commitment to local content and infrastructural development.

It further said, “Engr. Chris comes to Dorman Long Engineering with a laudable background and a wealth of experience that will propel the company to greater heights in the steel engineering and fabrication industry.

“With over 38 years of experience in project management and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for oil and gas, manufacturing and heavy industry, he will undertake full responsibility for the leadership and development of Dorman Long’s operations across the continent.

Engr. Chris Ijeli, in his official statement after the confirmation said he was honoured and humbled to take on the mantle as Managing Director, joining what he described as an exceptional team at Dorman Long Engineering.

He said, “Dorman Long has established itself as a pioneering force in the engineering industry with a solid legacy of excellence.

“I look forward to building upon its rich heritage and working together to deliver innovative and cutting-edge solutions to clients, whilst exploring new opportunities for growth.”

EnergyDay gathered that Engr. Chris in his previous roles, successfully envisioned and executed projects worth over USD 1.5 billion, transforming the face of infrastructure and driving the national and economic development of the nation.

Engr. (Dr) Babajide Agunbiade, was also confirmed as Dorman Long new Independent Non-Executive Director on its board.

Engr.Agunbiade, who is also the CEO of Alpha Energy Resources, a diversified conglomerate with interests in offshore production and mining, is one of the world’s leading offshore production experts.
