Nigeria to collaborate with IVM on CNG vehicles production

The Federal government has disclosed its determination to partner with Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited, IVM, and other investors in boosting the manufacturing and utilisation of CNG powered automobiles across the country.
Towards this goal, the Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Mr Ekperikpe Ekpo, has lauded the indigenous vehicle manufacturer, Innoson, for venturing into the production of CNG-powered vehicles.
Ekpo observed that the vision of IVM to manufacture CNG vehicles was in synergy with President Bola Tinubu’s directive that gas is adopted as a transition fuel in Nigeria and that more vehicles be converted and fired by CNG across the country.
The Minister spoke during a tour of IVM plant in Nnewi, Anambra State, along with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Amb. Nicholas Ella and other officials of the ministry.
He said, “I was pleased to personally witness the work done by as I went on a tour of their facility at Nnewi, Anambra state.
“I commend the vision of the company in manufacturing vehicles powered by gas as this is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to adopt gas as our transition fuel.
“Gas is the future and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (Gas) is willing and ready to support or partner with Innoson Vehicle and other investors in this sector in boosting the utilisation of CNG as fuel for automobiles across Nigeria.”
