Ghana announces three-week power outage due to reduced gas supply from Nigeria

Ghana Grid Company and Electricity Company of Ghana in a joint statement have said the country will experience power disruptions for three weeks as a result of reduction in gas supply from Nigeria, the country’s chief source of gas.
Explaining the reason behind the sudden disruptions of gas supply to Ghana, the West Africa Gas Pipelines Company said that maintenance work was being done by gas suppliers in Nigeria, adding that this would last for three weeks before supply can be restored.
