The Transmission Company Nigeria, TCN, has inaugurated a new 300MVA power transformer at its Benin Transmission Substation, thus augmenting power transmission capacity in the South-South and Southwest regions.

Ndidi Mbah, TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, said that the new transformer, one of two handed to the substation, was part of World Bank projects aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s power transmission infrastructure.

Mbah gave assurances that
TCN will as a matter of importance install the second transformer to further enhance redundancy and transmission capacity.

“This upgrade is part of the ongoing TCN/World Bank projects aimed at strengthening the nation’s transmission infrastructure. The addition of the new transformers is expected to improve power reliability and availability in the region.

“TCN is committed to continuously investing in transmission infrastructure to meet the growing demand for electricity in Nigeria,” Mbah assured.
