The Department for Petroleum Resources has stated that the country is open to prospective foreign investors who want to invest in nation’s domestic gas sector.

Some foreign investors from Iran arrived Nigeria on a working visit to DPR’s office, to seek investments opportunities in the country’s oil and gas sector.

The investments from foreign funds will further deepen the country’s domestic gas utilization, as an alternative source of energy.

While receiving the visitors from Iran, the Director/CEO of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Engr. Sarki Auwalu, told the delegation that the country is willing to provide the enabling environment for investors who want to invest in the domestic gas sector.

The foreign delegation which was led by the Managing Director, Behin Industrial Company, Mr Hamid, was received by the DPR boss himself.

Other members of the delegation included: Mr. Hamid Ghasemi, CEO, Mehrab Green Silk Road Co; Mr Ali Erami in company of CEO, Blue Atlantic Ltd, Mr. Aminu Dansarari.

Engr. Auwalu noted that the DPR will provide the needed guidance to create level playing ground and equal business opportunities for them, through licenses, permits and approvals.

He gave the delegation a breakdown of the potential areas of investments available to foreign visitors, based on DPR’s Strategic Oil and Gas Business Opportunities Desk Initiative, formulated to announce investment opportunities and create a partnership platform for stakeholders.

He also thanked the delegation for its interest in developing the Nigerian economy, especially the oil and gas industry.
