Two persons have lost their lives to a sudden explosion on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway involving a truck laden with PMS (Premium Motor Spirit).

The incident which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday has been confirmed by the Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

The Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Ahmed Umar, said the accident involving 8 persons, 3 vehicles and a motorbike, took place around 6 a.m near CDK integrated Industries Ltd., Sagamu. Six of the victims came out unhurt.

He said that the truck which has no registration number suddenly was caught up in fire a few kilometers away from the Sagamu interchange.

While blaming the accident on the truck driver who over sped, he revealed that the remains of the two victims have been moved to a nearby mortuary in Sagamu.

“The corpses of the dead have been deposited at Idera Morgue, Sagamu,” he said.

According to him, the fire was put out by firefighters and free flow of traffic on the axis restored.
